Luke Skywalker

History

Making Luke Skywalker took a lot of time to get the likeness right and I still didn't notice one eye was bigger than the other. Blending skin tones and adding more wrinkles in the clothing all added up to a more realistic likeness than the other figures based on comic books or animation which are much easier.

I looked at figure box art for references plus anything I could find in books or magazines since internet browsing was just starting at the time I made these figures.

The lightsaber blade was a challenge to fold inside the hilt but I was able to bend a pin thin enough to make it work. The lightsaber could have used one more extension to make it a bit longer, but then it would have made the hilt too thick since the blade stacks upon itself. The idea came from a folding wooden ruler. There is a small piece of velcro that holds the lightsaber onto his belt.
