Gambit

Gambit Powers

History

Gambit's collar was designed as a 3D part rather than flat as it looked much better and more like a trench coat. The clear contact paper allowed the coat to bend and move without ripping.

His powers of charging a playing card with energy was similar to Jean Grey’s fan out power but smaller and had more pieces to cover his full hand. I built it more complicated than it needed to be by sliding down instead of a simpler design I used later on Bishop that had only one pin in his fist.

Gambit’s glowing red eyes were always a part of his character and that didn’t show up well with the colored pencil so I used a red marker to make it more distinct.

The ToyBiz vintage X-Men figures for Gambit were great even though he had a brown plastic bag for a coat in his 5 inch version. They changed it to more of a vinyl in the 10 inch version.
